My Preschooler's Baon - A Daily Labor of Love

When I was still a student, I remember how my Mom is not the type who would wake up early to prepare our baon. She is a true-blue workahalic though, and she does put together other stuff we need for the school day - except for our baon. In short, she's not really into cooking or food matters - kahit kumain konti lang din. Hehe.

We had a cousin who helped us around the house, and she is a magnificent cook. Most times, she's the one who prepared our food for school. But when we were already of age (mga Grade VI onwards) to prepare our own baon, we were expected to wake up a wee bit early to prepare our food. So more often than not, our baon was 'pri-kanin' combo. Pritong hotdog, pritong nuggets, pritong porkchop - everything prito. Which come lunchtime became cold, wrinkled hotdog, cold, hard nuggets, and cold, leathery porkchop paired with our cold rice in our nagpapawis na baunan. *cringe*

WAHM-hood: 4 Things You Didn't Think You'd Need (But You Do!)

Just this afternoon, I realized I've come to a point in my WAHM-hood 'career' that I am itching for a change. I don't mean shifting back to corporate gear - just a change, anything to refresh my thoughts, my heart, my perspective... I am still reflecting on what that 'other road' to trod on is - but will keep this blog posted once I decide. :)

In the meantime, I wanted to share with you guys a few other realizations I've had about 'WAHM-ming', and this includes stuff (whether tangible or intangible) that I never thought I'd need in this home-based career but turned out to be necessary at one point or another (and another, and another, and another....)

K's Post-Birthday Photoshoot And Why It Makes Me Emotional

One of the highlights of the past couple of months was my daughter's fourth birthday, which I posted about here and here din. And her post-birthday photoshoot absolutely comes in close second.

Post-birthday photoshoot? Aba'y oo naman! Why not choc-nut?! We didn't get to arrange a shoot with her photographer (my uber talented brother. hihihi.), so we just decided to do it after, when everyone's schedule is maluwag.

I'm the kind of mom who loves taking photos of her kid, yung tipong lilingon lang, click click galore na. And though I am not at all the type who will send her photos to casting agencies or will take her to go-sees, type na type ko ang professional-looking photos. I just love seeing how well she interacts with the camera - and how it's not in a 'model-ly' way, but just as a happy child.

These are just some of the 'innocent' comments people had made when I tell them I'm a stay-at-home mom - my follow-up of 'but I do work online too...' doesn't seem to count as a 'job' for them. 

First Week in Nursery : Small Step for K, A Big (Challenging) Leap for the Momma

So... been out of the blogging loop after summer classes... because one week later, it was time naman for the opening of regular classes! At anong petsa na - tapos na ang June ngayon pa lang ako magblog about first week of school. Kalurks lang.

The Wonder Wahmmy...is now a Winner!

It's that time of the week again --- yey to weekends! Hope everyone's enjoying the idea of going on a 2-day break. For someone who has worked in the call center industry for almost5 years, trust me when I say that these 2 blessed days are 'sacred'. So make the most of it girl! :-)

Anyway.... I'm just taking a break from my before-I-go-on-weekend-mode work and I'm just posting this to clear the air. May issue? Wala naman.Hehe.

I just wanted my readers to know (bale mga dalawa kayo all in all. hehe) to know that I changed the name of my blog from The Wonder Wahmmy to The Winning Wahmmy because I found out that my soul sister/super friend already bought that domain some time ago and parang feeling ko redundancy ang paggamit ko ng almost same na blog name. :-) And siempre out of respect na din for her.

So in case mapansin nyo ang dati kong watermarks vs the new ones, wag kayong malurka.Ako pa din 'to. :-)

Our 2013 Summer School Experience

My sweet little girl just finished her summer classes this year, and this WAHMmy is overjoyed with all that she'd gained out of the experience. K turned four just this May, and we have enrolled her for the upcoming school year (Nursery) at Divine Light Academy, Molino Bacoor Cavite.

Unfortunately, DLA does not have a summer program for incoming nursery students (dapat magkaro'n!), so we decided to sign her up for classes at Villa Cecilia Academy, a school a few minutes away from our place (2500 for a month's worth of summer sessions, free for incoming preschoolers of the school).  All in all, there was about 10 students in their batch.
